2005 / 2010
This series began with a few casual photographs of Toronto architecture. As it developed, I became aware of strong lines, geometric shapes, textures, and reflections—elements that stood out even more when viewed on a diagonal.
Until now, my photography had focused on landscapes, people, pioneer villages, and war re-enactments. This project marked my first deliberate move toward abstraction.
To bring something more personal to the images, I adjusted the colours during editing. I’m drawn to contrast and bold colours, and applying them helped the images feel complete.
I’m pleased with the results and curious to see how the project will evolve.
